British Pies Invade Oakland, Imperialism Continues

The Pie Shop is bringing Ma Stokeld’s authentic brand of savory British meat and veggie pies and pasties back to Oakland after originating here in 1962. Try traditional and perfected recipes such as the Steak pie, top sirloin in a rich beef gravy baked in a flakey puff pastry, or the Chicken pasty, breast of chicken in a fresh mushroom sauce. Each pie or pasty is paired with your choice of side (mushy peas, cole slaw or baked beans). Enjoy them with a pint served up by pop-up host, the Commonwealth, or try a delicious cup of tea and sweet treats.
